Question about LG LRFD22850 Bottom Freezer Refrigerator French Door
I have an 8 month old LRFD22 and the inside of the freezer gets coated with ice--like an ice storm inside. You would have to chip off the ice to use the switch on the ice maker. Can anyone help?
I have found the factory settings do not work. I had the same problem. I changed the freezer setting to 5 F degrees and the refrigerator setting to 35 F degress. Have had no problems since.

I have seen this problem with the LG freezer unders. There is a air leak that is getting into the freezr allowing the moisture to frost up at the back of the freezer. It will form frost all over too. Since your unit is 8 month old call Lg and let them deal with the problem. At my last Lg training the problem is with the air damper in the fresh food section may not be closing fully. So Call for service.

Twice now with my bottom freezer, the seal is not making good contact, It is a winter wonderland in the freezer, with snow and ice. I am in trouble? Is this going to go on for the whole time that I keep the LG?
Why didn't I stick with GE?
We have a similar problem on our 2 year old LG french door fridge with bottom freezer. We typically use the ice maker however we get an excessive amount of ice or frost building up on the back wall of the freezer which must be knocked off. As the ice developes and covers a larger area on the back wall inside the freezer a fan ( I assume it is a fan ) starts making noise like it is hitting something...ice? Our only solution thus far is to unplug the fridge for 24 hours and then plug it back in again. We are planning to stop using the ice maker but would welcome a solution that would still allow us the use of this handy accessory.
