Unable to access the internet via my laptop

I recently installed McAfee and assigned a security key. The laptop indicates that I am connected to the network; however, it tells me that there is no internet connection. I have tried the repair connection several times and the wireless router works fine with a second laptop.

One of two problems. The Security Key for your wireless connection is wrong, or the McAfee is causing a problem. Most likely conflicting with any other virus software on your computer. Try removing McAfee from the computer and your solution should go away. Try another virus software such as Avast! Home edition. McAfee is known for having issues with wireless internet connections.

I can't access McFee protection on my Dell pc. The McAfee icon has disappeared from desk top and the link at the bottom right hand side of screen doesn't work.

The advantage of using McAfee is they have a very good support system. Google 'McAfee support' and take it from there. I have found the live chat with a McAfee to be very good.

My acer 5520 will not allow me to access the internet via wifi?

1)Turn ON the wireless feature on your laptop. It will be a combination of function keys.
2)Remove preferred networks
3)Assign DNS server address manually in Wireless Network Connections Properties
4)Try to scan for wireless networks in range now with/without security
5)Try Internet explorer, else mozilla firefox, else google chrome.
It will surely go online wireless

Linksys WRT54G Wireless Router Issue Allows 1 Computer at a time

Your router my not be DCHP enabled or it might not be assigning the IP addresses either.

I would do a reset and start all over with your security settings and see if that works. Worst case scenario you could always turn security off when your parents or others are there.

Main PC can't connect but others can!

I had this model of router quite some time ago. I had some bad experiences where when I tried to login to it I was unable to, the web based management interface would not respond (as you have described) . Resetting the device would resolve this I would recommend trying that. Unplug it, wait a few minuets and plug it back in. Then try again to access the management interface. 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 or whatever via a web browser.
