Insert a memory card that you know has properly stored images on it and that works fine on another camera. If you can play these images back on your camera and they appear fine in play back mode , then your problem is a CCD sensor fault and it has to be replaced. It may not be economical to repair though.

The shutter is jammed closed. This blocks the light from reaching the image sensor. This problem can generally be fixed without parts, price will be $100-150 for labor from a professional. Depending on the purchase price of the camera, you may be better off getting a new camera.

The operation to free the shutter is more of a mechanical process then an electronic. The camera body will have to be opened. The electronics generally have to be removed, and the lens assembly removed from the camera. You can then open the lens assembly and disassemble the moving elements inside. At this point you should have access to the shutter element which moves in the middle of the lens, you can re-set the movement of these delicate blades and re-assemble the camera. I do not have specific information on this model, so I cannot offer specific instructions on these operations only a general process of how it is done.

The shutter is jammed closed. Normally it is open and only closes when you take a picture. This closing allows the image sensor to record the image in darkness.

Because the shutter is stuck closed, light never reaches the sensor and everything appears dark.

I do not have that information. My apologies.

Samsung Digimax Cyber 530 does not show image on screen

Check the memory cards on your PC for the quality of the images that were shot now. if there is no fault seen the fault is in the display section. It can be a fault of the LCD or the failure of the flexible strip to the LCD.

Dark Screen

Your lens can not open the shutter, or CCD is dead. If you kept your camera in your pocket, most likely fine dust got in the lens and ultimetly between the shutter blades and now due to friction they can't open. But if you kept your camera clean, then it is dead CCD. You can have it fixed by replacing the CCD or the entire lens, but in particular this SD1000 camera the main board components can go wrong too. You can sell it "as is" on ebay for $50-70 and buy a working one for 80-90, the difference would be $20-30.

Auto focus quit working

Did it get dropped when the camera was open? If so it could have made the lens pop out more on one side. I'm not sure how to really explain it. When you open the camera, the thing that comes out might be off track I guess you could say. What setting are you using it on?

Cracked lens

Its very expensive to repair something like that. Usually it is more money than the camera is worth.
