Sony trv87 I was recording today and the not would go off and then on several times intermittently. I had tried removing the batteryand using only AC power but had the same problem. Now it wont turn on so I can record. It will however turn on so I can play the tape. that is ok. I pulled the batteries and AC and let it sit for 5 minutes and put both batteries back in with no luck. There is No LCD screen No view finder no power.

Although the battery shows it takes a charge and the camera will run in playbackmode (VTR) I found if I remove the battery and run on AC the camera turns on and now I can record with it. The battery must be the problem.

I need to delete some video's but i dont know how

Since your Handycam is tape based, you can delete your videos only by recording. Remember your old tapes and cassettes. It works just the same way.

Sony Video Camera Recorder CCD-F500E

Assuming that the model is the F500E, I need to know if you hear any motor action at all. Also, have you tried with the changer connected directly to the camera (power from AC rather than battery)? Do you have the viewfinder lighting up when in camera mode?
Thanks,
Dan

Use as a capture camera

try attaching the AC adapter. Also, go into the menu settings, and make sure that the auto power off setting is turned off.

Sony HandyCam CCD TRV 46E

Take the battery out and turn selection switch to camera and then turn it off. Put the battery back in and its working again.
if that doesn't work try
Try smacking the side of the camera relatively hard with the palm of your hand. Eject the tape and reinsert. You may need to do this a couple of times.

Moisture sensor on sony ccd-trv87

Moisture sensor is on the main circuit board and to replace the sensor you probably invest $100-200 for repair. It's the sensor or component surounding the sensor which gone bad. No other way around it. Good luck.
