Phosphate was outlawed as an ingredient in dishwasher detergent. If you live in a region with hard water, detergents don't work very well anymore. See the US map of water hardness. http://www.citriclean.net/why-citriclean/
If you live in a region with hard water, dishwasher detergents don't work very well anymore. The govt outlawed phosphate as an ingredient in detergent. Weird but true. Look at this map to see if you have hard water. If so, try cloudydishes.com http://www.citriclean.net/why-citriclean/
Most dishwashers require a minimum 120 degree inlet water temp. The heating element will boost this up during the main wash cycle to aprox 140. Do not hook a dishwasher up to inlet water temps above 150.
I have GE Dishwasher (model no:GSD1100G02),and for the last few month I was not able close the main detergent cup cap(it is coming back to full open position, even after keeping the CAP turned all the way to a closing postion)
I have called the GE spare parts division, and obtained the New detergent cup cap,and when I tried to remove the old one, inorder to replace with the new one,I was not able remove old one.
Please help me how to remove the old main detergent cup cap,and replace with a new one.
Hope I will hear from you soon in this regard.
