Odd sound both the fridge and freezer light seem to be clicking when I open either door - it may be from the electrical source - I'm not sure. It sounds like the lights themselves are rythmically pulsing. HELP - I'm not imagining it. Thanks.

Fridge keeps beeping or buzzing: The following is for Frigidaire models but others can be addressed similarly.

Temperature Controls ·A Frigidaire refrigerator's display panel blinks when the control panel is touched to set temperature controls. If you do not press the arrow buttons within five seconds after pressing "Freezer Temp" or "Refrigerator Temp" on the keypad, the refrigerator beeps to indicate the current setting will stay in place.

Door Open ·When you leave the refrigerator or freezer door open, the refrigerator beeps. Also, the "Door Ajar" indicator illuminates on the appliance's display panel. Shutting the door and pressing "Alarm Reset" stops the beeping and turns off the "Door Ajar" indicator light.
·The Frigidaire refrigerator has a control lock feature that prevents use of its control panel or dispensers when the unit is locked. When the control lock is active, a beep sounds when a keypad or dispenser is pressed. Release the control lock by pressing the "Control Lock" icon for three seconds. A beep will sound, and the icon's light will go out.
Power Reset ·A power reset is occasionally necessary if the Frigidaire refrigerator's control panel does not work normally or a reset function on the keypad does not work. A power reset involves disconnecting power to the refrigerator by unplugging its power cord from the electrical outlet, waiting 30 seconds and plugging the power cord back into the electrical outlet. When the control panel resets, a beep sounds. If the refrigerator beeps even after a power reset and the beeps' source is not known, contact Frigidaire.

That button just turns the interior light on when you open the door and off when you close it. Could a light bulb be slightly unscrewed? Or perhaps the bulb cover is loose?

A serious problem You have to take assistance from a technician. Due to overload as the door was left opened either the compressor motor or the condenser is burnt out. Please have it checked up. You will not be able to repair it yourself as it may require replacing parts.

your  problem on this is the main control in the compressor compartment. unplug your refrig then remove this control unplug all connectors and reconnect. this will probably get you working temporarily In almost every case I've seen we ended up replacing the control board. thx peyton

hi. thanks for the question. leaving the door open ,would let a lot of moisture to enter the freezer, and cause it to frost up. to clear frost. cut power to fridge, open the doors .,let thaw over nite clean up the water mess. dry the inside of fridge & freezer turn power on good to go. to stop the door from being left open .lift the legs under the front so the fridge has more weight, and it will close by self . no more doors left open. thanks the appliance doc

You need a tech to check the problem, it seems to be some kind of electrical short or, if the fridge has an electronic control module, it may be the source of the proble.

Sounds like a defrost problem. Check to see if there is any frost buildup in the back wall of the freezer. If so, it is not defrosting as it should.

• possible causes:

1. bad defrost timer/control unit
2. bad defrost heater (in freezer)
3. bad thermo switch in freezer

If you don’t know what these are then unplug the machine and let the ice melt in the freezer overnight with the door open. Then try it the next day, if is cooling fine then you need to have a service person replace one of the above items. If it still has a problem then it might be the compressor and you should probably replace the machine.

I would reset the module. Open the fridge door, keep the freezer door closed, then press the mode button (located on the display panel. This will re initiate the electronics

your story is very odd but likely nobody is messing with the door switch hwen you moved , or the wires could have shorted out. normally, the door switch, when you open a door would switch on a cabinet light and turn off the blower. in your case, its the reverse, as you open a door, the blower runs and if you close the door, the blower stops. im not sure if you can figure out which pair is the normally close and which one is the normally open on the door switch in order to swap them or you may rplace the door switch.
