Question about Acer Aspire 3610 Notebook
Hi, I have encountered the same problem after upgrading my memory. I removed the new memory and so far so good. By chance did you add memory and then the problem started ? Also my Acer has a DVD reader only, some models I believe could come with a DVD burner. Not sure if that's a possible clue. I'm going to check for a BIOS update. Hope this may shed some light on your problem.

I have a pair of Acer Aspire 3680 that does the same too, I just hold down the power button and cycle the power. I think it's a design flaw where it hangs because it cannot properly detect a device. My guess is the DVD drive because it hangs on boot whenever there is a disc in there.

Your LCD display could have gone bad. Try hooking up an external monitor to the laptop. If the external monitor works, then your LCD is bad. If that's the case it may be more cost effective to purchase a new laptop. Prior to doing so, I would check with Acer to find out how much they will charge you to replace the LCD. Good Luck!

I tried to add a external monitor and that did not work. Any other ideas? I think it might be stuck in sleep
