Power issue Hi,
After cleaning my CCD chip (which had some dirt on it somehow) of my DSC-P100, my camera seems to have issues: if only on battery power pressing the on/off button turns the camera on for about a second, but then it powers off. If I plug in mains power it works fine. Any ideas?

This Camera has an CCD issue. It seems that the CCD of the Camera is gone bad. However, you may try resetting the Camera to the factory settings. If the issue persists, try power resetting the Camera. To power reset, remove the battery of the Camera and press and hold the power button for 30 seconds and reinsert the battery after one minute and check the operation. If the issue still persists, the service is required.
This seems to be an issue with the CCD Image Sensor failure in the Camera. If you're able to view the previously captured images and display icons on the Camera, then the issue is with the CCD. Try resetting the Camera to resolve the issue. The RESET button is located inside the Battery / Memory Stick cover. To reset the camera, press the RESET button using a sharp-pointed object. Please make sure that you turn ON the Camera before you reset it.
If the issue is not resolved, then remove the batteries from the Camera and then press and hold the POWER BUTTON of the Camera for 15 seconds and then reinsert the batteries after 1 minute and check if the Camera works normally.
