What has changed most recently? did they work before? May be disabled in bios, need more info.

Do you have the original operating system on cd or dvd?

Which operating system was it and what is it now? Vista?

This is most likely a driver issue. If you need to re-install, pop in the cdrom and follow the steps for the install, the cd player may have to be set in bios as bootable, likely you are ok there.

"Press any key to boot from cdrom" when powering up and follow the steps to complete install, a recovery cd that may have come with the computer would be ideal if you have one. I would try to install without a format if possible, you may be able to recover your data, if you don't care, do a format, you are still going to need the drivers for all of the hardware, video will work but at standard vga 640x480x 16 colors, a lot of common hardware is already supported by XP, that should get yopu up and running, don't be shy. go for it, you cannot hurt it anymore, right?

How i can boot up win xp on bootable usb on acer travelmate 2413lc

1st of all plug in the usb bootable device. Then:
When you start up your computer it should say something like press f2 or f8 or something for setup. Hold down that key when the computer is starting up then:
1. Search through the BIOS with the arrow keys and enter for the setting to change the boot sequence.
2. Change the boot sequence to have your computer boot from the device first.
3. Then save the changes and reboot your computer.

The USB Ports on my ACER TravelMate 2350 Series Laptop, I have deleted the USB Port files from Device Manager and the machine reinstalled them when I re-started but it didn't change anything. I downloaded...

Hello,

I'm guessing your USB ports don't work or does it always ask you to install them. If you have your Windows XP license key at hand, please try downloading and installing the following...

Acer TravelMate 2350 XP Chipset Driver

Reboot. It might ask you to do a reactivation, or not.
Please recheck if your USB ports still work. If not, restart your machine, hit F8 continously until you get many options - choose the option "Safe mode" and press Enter. Check if it picks up USB in this Safe mode.

What you can also try, is that you have 3 different USB 2.0 ports on your machine. Try each one separately and see if one of them works. I would also recommend to see if the USB device you are trying to use is actually functional.

I reinstalled my OS win XP . now no usb

Open Run and launch regedit
Browse to the following location
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\USBSTOR
In the right pane, look for an entry named Start. If you find one delete it. Your USB devices should start working immediately.
If not please report back.

Acer 2300 travelmate laptop

Try this:

  1. Press Windows Button & Pause/Break to go to the System Properties (or right click on My Computer and choose Properties, but the other way is more fun.)
  2. Choose Device Manager.
  3. Expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers section
  4. Right click and choose Properties of one that says something about PCI bridge (I forget the exact name and after you fix the problem, this item goes away. If you aren't sure, you try step 5 and 6 on all of the USB items in that list.)
  5. Click on the Driver Tab (it's kinda slow loading).
  6. If the driver information on top says "Not found" or "Not installed" then click Update Driver... and let it look for the driver itself (I didn't need the XP CD but that might be because I keep a copy of it on my hard drive just incase. You might need it, I don't know.)
  7. After it finds the driver, click Okay and USB should start working immediately - no reboots needed!

Acer travelmate(belongs to my grandson), one rear usb three side mounted. Rear socket had been damaged, plastic contact support missing, pins touching case. Before I looked at it, notebook crashed if any...

motherboard dont have fuse has diodes which act similar to fuses but wont be blown.only things that will blow in that area are transistors or capacitors;but if these were blown usb's would not be detected.
in device manager were its says working correctly it relates to software istalled and working properly it cant tell u that the hub connection is damaged internally.
if your usb's are on card and connected to motherboard they can be replaced otherwise if built into motherboard youll have to take it to repair shop.
if the only problem is when u connect a usb device and not causing any other problems,u could use usb hubs that go into the pcmcia
