Hi there, im hoping that someone is able to give us a bit of guidance as our IT guy is doing his best to look busy and not helping us.
We've burnt a dvd, with a menu, and when it's played on a DVD player, people's movements are all jerky/strobing.
We've tried a number of possible solutions ie, changing the quality, burning as an ISO disc image before burning to a DVD-R but nothing seems to have worked, it's still strobing. HELP! Coz our IT guy is a bit of a fool and seems not very willing to give us help.
Many Thanks
Amy.
Gosh, you can tell im a total newbie to all this, and my manager has disappeared for a week and left me completely on my jack with it all.
The clip we're trying to burn was an .avi imported into DVD Workshop, we were just trying to burn through that programme but have also tried Nero which didnt remove the problem.
I feel like im floundering a bit!
We tried a slower burn speed as it was suggested that this might help, however it didnt seem to.
Someone else has suggested that we create a DVD folder may help, so im going to try that in a little while. If not, my manager suggested i try to author the DVD in Premiere Pro and bypass DVD WorkShop altogether.
Ill try the various suggestions and let you know.
Many Thanks

I have a very similar problem, strobing video whenever their is significant movement in the video on a finished DVD-R. I captue 15 min of video using Adobe Premier Pro CS3 and rendered the clip as an avi file. Note the following CS3 settings:
Editing mode: DV NTSC Timebase: 29.97 fps Frame size: 720h 480v (0.900) Frame rate: 29.97 frames/second Pixel Aspect Ratio: D1/DV NTSC (0.9) Fields: Lower Field First Audio Sample rate: 48000 samples/second DV Capture Video Rendering Maximum Bit Depth: Off Preview File Format: DV NTSC Compressor: DV NTSC Color depth: Millions of colors
I imported the avi file into Ulead DVD Workshop 2 and used the following settings:
MPEG files 24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps (DVD-NTSC), 4:3 Video data rate: Variable (Max. 8000 kbps) LPCM Audio, 48 KHz, Stereo
I also trie other settings such as: Dolby digital audio and a constant video data rate with no success!
Prior to the CS3, I edited with premier 6.5 with no problem authoring with Ulead's workshop. Keep in mind the strobing occurs even when I convert to mpeg2 and burn without any authoring. CAN ANYONE HELP!!!!

Re:
Amy,
We would need a few more details about your video in question. Origional movie filetype, method of encoding, software used to burn, capture card used to create file etc.
I do know for sure that making an ISO instead of a burning the folders or video files as a data/video DVD really doesn't do anything to help you with this problem.
Also are you burning a traditional DVD or like many new players will play divx, xvideo, and windows media files. All of which could be burnt to a CD or DVD, and I have seen many files act similar to what your describing.
Basically try to encode the video with another program and check to make sure you are using the appropriate frames per second.
Here's a link to a free encoder that really works great for me.
http://flaskmpeg.sourceforge.net/
O yea if you are trying to copy a vhs to dvd or a dvd without ripping the dvd you will get uneven audio, and video problems its called MACROVISION.
good luck,

Sorry, this FixYa Washer Forum does not supply service centre numbers, engineers, spares or spares sources, software, installation instructions or prices; it is just made up of ordinary guys and gals, probably at home, from all over the world, with experience of addressing problems and giving guidance for free on the web ;-0)
You will either have to search in your local telephone directories OR stay on line and search for '(make) washer spares' and hope that you can find someone/somewhere reasonably local.
Sorry again ;-0(
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!
