    I am having the same problem. My cd tray automatically comes out frequently without reading it. The power light is also not blinking. Any one please get me back with the update.

There is a solution. Take out the cover (only the cover that have label SAMSUNG / SUPER WRITEMASTER / DVD MULTI RECORDER ) when the DVD drive is open.

I'm afraid when a drive starts to eject the draw especially on boot up, it's a sure sign that the unit is faulty and needs replacing.

When i load any dvd or cd on my lap top dvd rom and when i open it.automatically it it is ejected.
This sounds like a common problem at the moment in which a windows update is giving off.
It is best that an expert takes remote assitance of your computer to look into this further for you.

You can also verify the users manual. Mostly you can see some code in the CD-ROM like: DVD-RW= Can write CD and DVD DVD-R= Can only read DVD's CD-R= Can only read cd's. CD-RW- Can write CD's only.

My Samsung Octoedge CD RW is not detecting CD ROM s
* check the cables (cd w\r cable,powercable)wheather it is connected properly by opening the case

*change the ide cable (cd w\r cable) with new one or other

*connect ur cd w\r in different machine see wheather it is working

*see jumper settings in hdd it should be master and cd w\r should be slave

*restart ur machine
