Just take the paper out turn it over and replace it. Paper has a bit of warp and needs to be placed in the correct orientation. There should be an arrow on the ream.
A suggestion ....if your printer has never been serviced, chances are the Paper feed-tires are "glazed".
Over time the paper dust that is conviently for free in a ream of paper gets trapped on the surface of the Feed tires. This will result in no-traction, or false paper-jam.
if you have a little alcohol ,Q-tips and some spare time a patients, you can save a $65.00 cleaning bill...I hope this helps, Best regards,Steve

If paper ream was humid or the paper stick to each other then there can be a feeding problem. Loosen the sheets by ruffling the sides and put in the feeder, adjust the side aligners to fit paper snugly but not very tight
There is a sensor relay arm under the body of the printer in the hole created by removing the paper tray.
Look for a long thin peice attached to a spring assembly.
There is a wire that plugs in to the relay it may be loose.
You might also remove the paper, push the metal peice of the paper tray into a locked postion and then replace your paper
