Lost my Ebel that my husband just gave me for Christmas. I know he paid $$$$ and I can't tell him. I don't know where he bought it or if it is registered (I'm assuming you do register these watches).
Think I lost it in the mall, carrying alot of bags, kids in tow & I thought I felt it snap off but when I looked at it, still on my wrist. By the time I got home, it was gone.
I called the mall's administrative offices and no one has turned it in. Returned to the mall and back tracked every step, even looked in the parking lot, the car, in all my bags - nothing.
If someone found my watch and contacted Ebel, would they be able to trace the watch to me? Or is someone found my watch and decided to keep it but it needed repairing, could it be traced back to me?
Sorry for your loss.
If your watch was registered, then it can be traced by reporting the loss to Ebel. You can do it on the internet: www.ebel.com
You will have to submit all the details of your watch.
In case, if your watch will turn up at any of authorized Ebel dealer workshops, it will be reported as stolen or found and you will be contacted.
But that can never happen, too.
If someone was lucky to find an Ebel watch, I doubt he/she will try to find the owner, unless he/she is just a perfect human being.
Ebel watches are of very good quality, quite prestigious and a good value as well, so, I think the finder will keep your watch himself.
Anyway- do not give up and report the lost watch. The only downside is- you have to tell your husband, as he is the only person who knows where and when watch was purchased as well as the rest of the details.
Wish you luck.
