Ok got my camera working thanks to the dehumidifier , and some solutions posted here next questtion how do you open this camera , i have all the screws out ,and all i need now is to open the camera from the top end, my lcd screen comes up in blotches , ie from the rain damage , can that be fixed , or do i need a new screen . kind regards , for any solution posted . The P850 has two hidden screws under the eye view finder. You need to remove the rubber eye piece by removing the two screws and pressing in a downward direction. You will see the two holes for the screws.

Once your LCD has gone blotchy, that means its probably time to get a new one. Water has either leaked inside and ruined it or there is damage in the wiring. As for opening your camera, once all screws are out, it usually a matter of clips on the inside that snap the 2 halves of the camera together. I don't own this camera so I would suggest using a small flat head screwdriver and gently prying around trying to find the clips.
