When laptop charging in off position and if i connect usb pen drive, ext. HDD, etc. these are on and flashing

Is the laptop off or Hibernating? Sleeping? Open the Control Panel, Power Options, Set to High Performance, open Advanced Power settings, set Hibernate and Sleep to Never. Shut down the laptop at the Start Menu. If the AC cord is plugged in the battery will charge. Nothing else should work.

I cant format my C400 with a pen drive

If you're tryng to format the HDD on a Dell latitude C400 (or install an OS), this thing will not boot to any USB devices (flash drives, pen drives, external USB cd-rom drives, etc.) - just ain't gonna happen since the BIOS doesn't support such boot devices. The only thing it'll boot to is (1) docking station, and (2) a Media Bay optical drive.

My computer don't see mt toshiba 500 GB external disk. I had Win XP with SP3 and my external disk is connected to a USB hub with 8 ports. I had a pen connected to that hub and the computer see it. But...

Your USB hub cannot provide enough power for your external hdd, you can try to plug it in directly to any free USB port for the mean time to check if its detected or not, if it has a power button ( which is not normal for regular USB powered EXT HDD) make sure that it is on, if its still not working try to use a different cable, a known good cable or plug it in to a different computer to check if its your USB port, or the usb cable or the ext hdd that is causing the issue

Hope this help.

Hi. My computer says I ejected my WD My Passport external drive but it was not properly ejected. How can I fix this. I need all my thesis files but computer can read the external drive! Help please!

Try to test your WD Ext HDD to a different computer and check if you will get the same problem.

If the same problem persist try to use a different cable for your WD Ext HDD.

If still fails kindly ask the store where you bought the WD Ext HDD on how to retrieve your files and have WD EXT HDD replaced?

If your WD Ext HDD works to a different computer then update the BIOS and Chipset of the computer where your WD Ext HDD connected previously.

Hope this helps.

No manual for 320 GB desk top hard drive

its a plug and play just connect to the sys and start working on it

but be careful that u connect the power to the Ext.HDD first and then after that connect it to the USB port

similarly safe remove from the Sys and remove it only after u see the msg It is safe to remove the USB drive disconnect the USB cable from the Sys wait for 20-30 secs ten power off the HDD for better performence of the Ext HDD
