Question about Samsung NV3 Digital Camera

3 Answers

Charging I have just purchased this camera and read the manual. It appears as if i have to charge the camera prior to use. The manual does not say whether to use the travel adaptor and usb cable or plug it straight into my computer (usb) When plugged in, the light on the charger flashes - Red - Green - Amber, it then turns off and i don't know if it is charging. I have had it on charge for about 4 hours now and the camera will not turn on!! Please help as the manual does not explain anything.

I had the same problem.  Check the polarity of your battery. That's what happened to my camera. I must have taken out the battery and put it back wrong

I do not know this particular camera but it is not usual to take a battery charge from the computer. Charger plug in the the household supply. Is this one different? There is usually a more comprehensive manual in PDF on the disk- have you checked that out. Finally get on to customer support, if you feel you are getting nowhere. I would like to know more about the battery charger.

Battery life increasingly short

Batteries need to be discharge all the way down prior to charging. If you don't do this the battery has a memory when stage the power of the battery is in. For example if I charge a battery that is only half way discharge and I charged it, from that point on you will only have a have charged battery. When the power goes down to half you no longer have power. So you keep charging it and you end result is what you have, increasingly short life. Good Luck

Batteries are expensive so check to see how much they are versus how much a new purchase will be, and make your decision.

I have to set the date each time I turn on my Nikon S9 camera even when the battery is fully charged

Read the manual to determine my power supply is supposed to re-charge the watch and date power supply. Since this isn't happening and I don't have a recently purchased battery for it, I'll buy a new camera battery to see if it corrects the problem. If it doesn't correct the problem, the internal power supply that runs the date and time feature (2 days without the camera battery in the camera) will have to be replaced.

Recharge your batteries for AT LEAST 15 hours, even if your charger's light indicates full charge. You should get at least 200 pics from a charge.

If you read the instructions, you MUST use the external charger that comes with the camera to charge the battery, the camera wont charge the battery. The DC jack on the camera just powers the camera from the AC adapter, but doesnt charge battery

Batteries

Hi, This might be a case of the defective batteries (though brand new). Most if not all rechargeable batteries including Li-Ion batteries have only so much shelf life. The unit might be new but have been with the dealer for sometime. Probably your best bet would be to bring it back to the dealer and ask for a replacement camera or at least the batteries. Show him the fully charged indicator and how quick it will be gone when you try to take a pic. Of course, you would need your warranty card, proof of purchase and any other documents normally asked for complaints like this, Hope this give you an idea. Good luck and kind regards.
