Question about Samsung NV3 Digital Camera

3 Answers

Charging I have just purchased this camera and read the manual. It appears as if i have to charge the camera prior to use. The manual does not say whether to use the travel adaptor and usb cable or plug it straight into my computer (usb) When plugged in, the light on the charger flashes - Red - Green - Amber, it then turns off and i don't know if it is charging. I have had it on charge for about 4 hours now and the camera will not turn on!! Please help as the manual does not explain anything.

I had the same problem.  Check the polarity of your battery. That's what happened to my camera. I must have taken out the battery and put it back wrong

I do not know this particular camera but it is not usual to take a battery charge from the computer. Charger plug in the the household supply. Is this one different? There is usually a more comprehensive manual in PDF on the disk- have you checked that out. Finally get on to customer support, if you feel you are getting nowhere. I would like to know more about the battery charger.

There's a diopter adjustment control near the right edge of the viewfinder. Look through the viewfinder at a blank wall and adjust this until the focus marks appear sharp.

It's possible the card is not faulty. Most new cards must be formatted in the camera first in order to work properly. Did you do that?

Take pictures, reads unable to recognize files, and doesnt even show i have taken a picture

The camera may require manually opening the shoot lense to achieve flash to capture pictures. Observe the camera buttons for every complementary buttons that may require activation prior to photo shoots. Usually smaller cameras with lenses may require manual lense adjustments prior to every photo shoot.

My Z1275 Digital Camera is not holding a charge. I have purchased 3 sets of recharable batteries, I charge them, when I use my camera I take two pictures and the battery is low. What am I doing wrong?...

Check whether there is corrosion on or damage to the battery contacts inside of the camera. Also check whether there is any debris in the battery compartment.
If you find nothing wrong with the connectors or compartment, then something inside of the camera has failed and the camera will have to be repaired by a qualified technician.
There is a firmware update for this camera that is available; however, it does not seem to address the issue that you are describing.

Camera will not come on. Previously, I have not used the camera for two years. I took it out and charged several batteries. It shows that they are fully charged. But, the camera would not come on...

Try to use it firstly with AC adaptor(VSK0617) to understand that if it is working. The original battery pack (CGA-S302A) irreversibly loses approximately 20% capacity per year. So it is normal I think. Also, high charge levels and elevated temperatures (whether resulting from charging or being ambient) hasten permanent capacity loss for lithium-ion batteries. Think that shelf life+usage period+two years and other bad parameters decreases its life near 0.
As I said before,
Try to use the camera with its AC adaptor then change the batteries with new ones.
Hope that it will work.
This is the link of camera manual. May be you need to read the page 12.

Charging problems Samsung i70

I have had exactly the same problem. It appears to be to do with a fluctuating power source, believe it or not. I certainly didn't know my power fluctuated! Try charging from different sockets in your house. Mine works in one socket only! It's a single socket, whether that is significant.

Technical problem

I purchased a *ist DS used a couple of weeks ago, and it turns out to have similar problems. This camera seems very fussy about batteries. I am using rechargeable NiMh AAs. After about 30-40 exposures, the camera shows battery depleted. If I turn the camera off, then back on, it will show a charge - sometimes a full charge and will work for another 20 or so exposures. It can keep this up for a couple of days.

I read an explanation in one of the photo blogs (can't remember which) that suggested this was caused by one or two incompletely charged batteries in set of 4. If one is discharged the current from the others supposedly will flow to it, giving fluctuating power readings to the power management curcuit. This sounded plausible enough that I purchased a new charger yesterday which monitors the charge on each battery. Too early to tell whether this solved the problem or not. The other option is to switch to disposable batteries.

Fuji-mx1700 and night shots

Use the manual set up ( the small camera icon with the "M" next to it. Play around with the flash settings and set your flast to night. Check out the manual on this feature. I just got my 1700 last week. The Halloween photos were a lot of fun. Its also my first digital camera and there is a lot to learn. I read every thing I could find on the web prior to my purchase. I felt the MX1700 was the best value. So far this camera has met or exceed all my expectiations.
