Question about HP OfficeJet 7310 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Help! After a month of working wonderfully, I came into the office one day and the 7310 tells me I have to reinstall the HP software. I don't know what happened overnight with it. After re-install, scanner only works on the glass - no longer taking from the feeder. Also scanner pop-up message keeps saying it's busy. Everything else still works fine. Company IT is no help, contracted HP rep is worse - he broke my last HP officejet. Anyone have insight to this problem? Thanks!
I had this problem with my 7310 and again with my L7780. Never got scanner on 7310 to work except from browser, but when I got my L7780, the CD that came with it would not install the scanner properly. I went to HP.com and downloaded the installation software (300+MB), installed the printer using that, and all problems were solved. You would think that HP could figure this out, but I gave up after hours on-line with them and more hours on the phone. Good luck.

If the HP service cant help, then try to get a exchange, the machine usually have a warranty.

Thanks Tonerman for trying to help! I should have added that I acquired this all-in-one from an employee that was laid off. IT doesn't keep track of equipment so packaging and receipts are history. Do you think this could be a firewall problem?
When I attempt to scan, 7310 says I have to install software before scanning will work. Worked fine for a year or more. All other functions work, and scanner works when accessed via browser.
I have exactly the same problem. I've reloaded that software several times. Has anyone found an actual solution? Taking it back is NOT going to solve the problem. I'm looking for a REAL solution such as a software patch or update.
I have the same problem with scanner, will not scan to computer. Tells me I need the software. Contacted tech support, told me where to go & install complete installation, didn't help. So I uninstalled everything & then went on line & reinstalled, nothing, same thing.
