Pc keeps shutting down

How to fix or troubleshoot blank or black screen not powering up issues...

Try running Last Known Good Configuration which should fix your problem.

Step 1: Shut down your PC completely.
Step 2: Turn on the Power button.
Step 3: As soon as you turn it on start hitting the F8 key on your keyboard until you get to a black screen called "Windows Advanced option". (If you don't get to that that screen but you end up reaching the blue screen than that means you have delayed in hitting the F8 key. start again from step 1.)
Step 4: As soon as you reach "Windows Advanced option" use your down arrow keys to choose an option called "Last know good configuration".
Step 5: Select that and HIT ENTER.
Step 6: your PC will boot to the windows. I

You should be able to run system recovery by repeatedly tapping on the keys ALT and F10. They need to be pressed down at the same time.


1.Turn on the power.
2.Start pressiong on ALT and F10 at the same time, keep doing it until something comes on the screen and asks you to do something, you may get a simple black screen where you just need to press Enter to start the recovery software. it might actually look just like the windows was starting up.


Let me know how you get along with it. You can also try holding down alt and press on F10 repeatedly.

First thing I'd check is for a BIOS update for your computer under the Acer support pages (acer.com). In some cases, thermal control updates are included in newer version of the BIOS, if it is a manufacturing problem.
Goto http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php and download Hardware Monitor, start the computer and immediately run the hardware monitor app to check how high the temperature on the CPU gets before it shuts down.
Continuing use under this condition may damage your Windows installation because of the sudden shutdown.

I can only see first two lines of your message so might need more information ALL computer power off if the not used for sometime this can be 5 mins or 5 hrs depending what your power functions are set at If it is not plug into the wall plug in and leave for half an hour then try turning on and in control panel the is an icon called power change the setting to suit

hi , check if u can run the system in :"safe mode with VGA"option, or just the safe mode???if it works in safe mode, u will need to restore the O/S to previous checkpoint, or reinstall the OS using "repair" option.let me know
