I have the same problem, no power. The previous day the battery remote low came on over the TV ( I have DISH satellite). I continued to watch 'tv through out the day. I turned the set off when I was retiring for the nIght. I tried to turn the set on the next morning and I could not get the power to turn on remotely or mannually. I disconected everything and started fresh. I even tried a power cord from the same version TV of my roomate to no avail. Can anyone tell me the cost of replacing the powersupply? Is it worth the cost?I have the same problem, no power. The previous day the battery remote low came on over the TV ( I have DISH satellite). I continued to watch 'tv through out the day. Mine died in the middle of watching a DVD. I took a look at the internal power supply and checked the fuse. It was good. I did notice quite a bit of discoloration due to heat on the main circuit board around one of the components. I am looking for a replacement power supply but after reading some of the posts here I wonder if it is worth the trouble and cost. Especially since the remote died sometime ago as well.

Our Protron PLTV-3250 stopped working Jan. 2009 at less than 60 weeks old. This TV is STILL under warranty and these people refuse to do anything whatsoever, including replying to my email or phone calls!
We added a 2-yr Warranty to the 1-yr. Warranty. That may equal 3-years but it isn't worth anything. Many times I've contacted Protron and RepairTech - and nothing - nada - ripoff - THEY ARE CROOKS - as far as we're concerned. We cannot believe that they're still selling their products!

My Protron 32" went out a year and a half ago. As a matter of fact, it went out while I was still paying for it (credit card). It's the biggest piece of **** TV I have ever owned. As a matter of fact, I went back to the regular tube tv because it doesn't break! I should have known better than to buy from an unknown company who ends up filing for bankruptcy and leaving us all high and dry...with broken TV's. Mine has no picture and no sound. The power button lights up red when plugged in, then when you press power it turns green and you still get NOTHING! When you then try to press power to turn it off, the light stays green. I bought it from Sears and they were of no help. I got it as a christmas present. It wasn't a gift that kept on giving. What a disappointment. I figured I'd check the boards every now and then and seen if anyone found a "cure" to the problem. My Protron 32" went out a year and a half ago. While watching the TV it shut off and has not come back on. Have tried different outlets and just removing and replacing the power supply. TV is about 2 1/2 years old. By the posts here I guess it is not worth trying to get Protron on the phone. I called a local repair service and they said they have fixed other Protron TV's with same problem between $40-$60. Said it is usually the internal power supply. While watching the TV it shut off and has not come back on. Have tried different outlets and just removing and replacing the power supply. Same thing here. One of the components on the Power supply board burned out. Taking a closer look at it I realized it heated up so much it damaged the circuit board. Not sure if I can just replace the burned out piece or have to replace the entire board. Cheapest one on line I have found is around $100. Not sure if it is worth it. Same thing here. Plug the power cord directly into a wall power outlet, and make sure that the standby light is lit (turn it on/off manually to see if anything changes). If there isn't any light, then it's most likely broken.
If the TV works again, being plugged into the power outlet in the wall, then the problem is with the cable box (i bet you figured that out too).
have u made sure that the out let has power yet? if not check fuse box. next, if has power to outlet, manually press power button not remote controll, after it has been unplugged for some time. view the back pannel of tv. and see if there is a fuse or fuse notification. follow manufactuar or owners manual instructions from here, google vizio support or call 888 849 4623 with model and info ready
Replace the power supply inside the tv. I have found ther here. They are the cheepest place that has them.$60 not $100 at shop jimmy. http://www.power-on.com/lcd194-3f.html
once you have front panel in the tv and this one shows power channel +- volumen +- menu then your tv has to work with those ones and the remote is a second option to do the same. With this i mean you tv has to respond and at least show menu when you push that button " if no signal (cable DVD VCR) plug in"
Then if the tv is dead you should try to repair or sent it to repair. and then get the remote control and it can be universal too.
take your tv to technician who can check your power supply, if your power is coming on and off, than a problem is not as big. firstly let him check a ht of a supply constantly, your supply is cutting.
I have a Protron 37: LCD TV. The power indicator does not change to green (the red light is showing) and the TV will not turn on, either by remote or using the power button on the TV. The TV is about a year and a half old. Can you please help me?
