I had d same problem as Catherine had ie every time i started it, the language menu popped up.... but then sansa support displayed a solution of recovering the data after doing it my player does not even start ie forget the menu, not even sansa name is displayed.. I have used the disk for a month only with every precaution, and within a month there is this problem somebody help me!!!!!!!!!
The player showed a bad file error message then the it filled up with lines and now it is a blank screen. We cannot turn it off or reset it.
Have you tried 'recovery mode'? 1. Lock your player and hold the record button. 2. While holding the rec. button, turn on the player. You're now in recover mode. 3. Connect it to your computer and update the firmware manually. (get the file from the sandisk website and drag it into the player drive.) 4. Turn on your player and hopefully it will work.
