Iriver h10 5gb

My iriver will power up upload and sync files but will not play or record. I have the latest version of firmware on there and the files are the correct format but for some reason it will not play. The FM tuner works so i know that it work and the ear plugs r good but the music will not play. or go to the next song to play it. PLEASE HELP.....

Hello,

To the iRiver support site:
http://www.iriver.com/flash/index.asp?code=0302

In the top page right corner enter "E100" and all support for the E100 player shows up.
Click on the required New Firmware e.g. latest version 1.22 to get more information ( sep 25, 2009 ).
Next click
"-. Customers who purchase E100 can upgrade their players either
by Firmware updater or Iriver plus3".

A page shows up for how to download and install the firmware.
Right click the firmware updater
and select "save target as...", for a place to save the installer.

Getting Iriver plus 3:
In the left column of the support page select Plus 3. Next left click Download iriver PLUS3 and save the execute file iplus3.exe .

My iriver got boot failure,

the latest firmware is 2.04 download HERE and follow instructions. HEREis the download link for the english version of the users manual. I hadto add the .zip extension to it to make it extract but to answer yourquestion it does not look like it supports .m4a files. Use THIS to convert yor .m4a files to .mp3

I have an iriver h10 20gb and it freezes every time it goes to perform any function, like when synchronising it accepts the first song then locks up and must be reset, or when playing songs i can't even...

You need to format again the HD and to reinstall software. Do a backup of files on your mp3 first.

Make sure you have the latest version of Windows Media Player. XP has all the right drivers but the iRiver needs to synchronise with Media Player inorder to transfer music onto the player using the sync function. Get Media Player 10 or higher then plug the iRiver into the computer.

XP should display it as a drive in "My Computer". It may require a firmware upgrade. This can be downloaded from T20 Firmware Upgrade V1.71

error can't open this file???

Be sure you are using the latest version of Iriver Plus 3, to load your music. It automatically makes all the necessary conversions to put files on the player.

have you tried playing it in ole iriver style (not rockbox). to see if you really did delete something. and if so go to www.iriver.com and download the the last firmware you had to rebuild. and hopefully you can come back to rockbox latest version also. its just a very late suggestion. oh yeah one more do you know of any one who has a 120 as yours (you can copy theirs software, but you will have to format yours in order for it to work correctly)

Formating

Did you reinstall the firmware? Check to see that you have a file called ihp_120.hex on the root directory. If not, you can download the latest version of the device's firmware from the support page on iriver's website. Otherwise, I suggest you try installing Rockbox firmware (www.rockbox.org).
