Our frige is a side by side samsung fridge which we have had for approx 2yrs however the fan was making immense noise of rattling and the frige has now stopped working and we have been advised we need to replace the fan how mush is this? we have been told couple of hundred quid. is this a common fault and why would it happen this soon?
Fan stop working now ice maker doesn't make ice & hot around inside panel where the stripping is
Hi Fat head; the problem is not completly uncommon. what can happen is the fan gets something on it and becomes unballanced. Thi in turn wears the fans motor bushings out, and eventually ruins the unit. A couple hundred quid seems a bit steep to me, But I live in the U.S.A., and unless I am mistaken, the cost to have a repair person come, and do a service on an electrical appliance, is considerably higher in the U.K. So no, a couple hundred quid is not completly out of line.
