If you didn't get a maintenance disk with the PC contact the manufacturer's support. They sometimes put a backed up copy on the hard drive itself, if this is the case they will be able to tell you how to access it =)

SOURCE: need a toshiba portege R500 vista recovery disk
Toshiba Factory Reset
a couple of ways to do that
1) if you have the recovery CDs supplied with the PC - then you can use these - put the CD into the drive and when it boots follow the instructions
2) If you have a recovery partition on the laptop - have a read here to see if you have one

3) This link shows you how to use the partition

basically as the PC boots TAP F8 key - from the menu that appears
choose "repair your computer"
If that option is NOT available then you will need to Order CDs from Toshiba -
