Window unit air conditioner leaking water inside home
My Fedders 8000 BTU window air conditioner is leaking water into my home. I cannot take the front off. Must I remove the unit and take off the entire housing from the back? I am partially disabled so this is not a good option. I have misplaced the manual, can I get a replacement? NC is really hot and humid this year and due to healh conditions I need this unit quickly.
I finally WORKED the front housing off, this wa quit hard to do butr it will come off after removing the two screws. I cleaned it all out and made a pathway for the water to drain. I then tipped it a few degrees to the back and reset everything. Now it is draining out the back as it should. I never found the drain pipe though. It works great now and it cools better even at a higher setting. Go figure. Thanks for your help. mbI finally WORKED the front housing off, this wa quit hard to do butr it will come off after removing the two screws. I have a Fedders ASBO8F2A that was in our house when we bought it and it leaks, has no drain, I don't know what to do, I'll tilt it back more I guess. Hi, Check that the hole in the back is not plugged where the water should be running out...also make sure that it is tipped slightly back towards the outside...
As rule of thumb the outside part should be lower than the inside part. You know that the angle is right when the water in the drain pan does not go toward the room but towards the drain itself.
