I have a green tint discoloration in the bottom right hand corner of my screen. It's about the size of two hand palms together. It's very noticiable especially in white background scenes. Could it be that I have my VCR installed too close to this area? It's directly underneath almost touching. If I move my VCR will the screen tint discoloration go away? Or how can the green discoloration area be removed?
i have a purple discoloration at the bottom right hand side of my sony 50" rear projection, my son left a large hi fi speaker at the side of the tv for two months, i have moved it now but the discoloration is still there.

find the picture icon for the messenger on the bottom right side of your screen near the clock area. Sometimes you will see a down pointing arrow instead. Click on this arrow to open the area and locate the picture of the windows messenger. right click with your mouse on the messenger and choose "exit" and this will close the program.
You have two choices: You can either use the Green + button in the top left hand corner - this will resize the window to the optimum size, not maximise it! Or, there should be some little diagonal lines in the bottom right hand corner of the window. This is a handle that you can drag. I cannot remember if Word has it, but it should be there.
Hope that helps!

Is it a green tint at some areas alone, oris the entire image having a green tint?
If it is a color patch at the corner or other areas of the screen, in all likelihood it is a degaussing problem. Color patches happen when the TV is moved from one location to another, or if some magnetic source is placed close to a CTV. Did you put a radio or Tape recorder or Walkie talkie toy or any magnetic source near the TV? if yes, remove it. And the automatic Dregaussing circuits in the TV will resolve the problem in a couple of days.
But if there is an overall Green tint on the picture, it signifies a problem in the Video output stages, and there is nothing you can do, but call the technician (unless you know solid state servicing?)
