Hotpoint FZA50 Freezer not cold enough

Hi, our FZA50 upright freezer is not maintaining a cool enough temperature. Meat etc. is still frozen but ice cream is soft. What can I check? The thermostat is set to nearly max, there is good ventilation, but I do notice that the fan seems to be running continuosly (it stops when the door is opened and resumes on closing).

I emptied the freezer last night and transferred to a chest one we have in the garage. A bit of ice in the bottom, so its now nplugged and I'll clean in at the back of it tonight once its defrosted. Hopefully that'll do it.

Hi I have this very difficult problem with my fridge.
Every time we buy meat, we pack it in the bags, keep them for hour or two in the fridge to cool and then put in the drawers. Before i could put 6KGs at once and it would be super easy, but for the last 2 years i need to put a 2 bags , then the freezer would start cooling up from -18 towards -13, then the ****** beepers starts, its usually late at night... Then i have to press superfrost for an hour and then repress it and pray it would not cool to -6.It comes to -8,then its like this for a day!!!AND THEN it resumes rapidly to designated temperature. This 2 bags literaly ******* my other stuff since the freezer "heats" up 10deg to level the temperature..Any clues

My kenmore upright freezer has frozen water at the bottom and is leaking frozen at the top also. how and I fix it

It sounds like you might be dealing with a defrost drain issue or a problem with the freezer's door seal. Try defrosting the freezer and clearing any ice buildup, then check the door seal for any gaps or damage. If the problem persists, you may need to consult the user manual or contact a professional appliance repair service for assistance.

Upright Freezer not cold enough

Honestly it sounds as if you have a sealed system issue, most likely low on freon.

High temp light on, loss of door suction, ice in channels in back pannel of freezer, Why is autofefrost not working? Have to leave empty for 2-3 days to defrost.

The defrost heater element has failed, it has created so much ice buildup on the cores air can not draw through the chanels in the cooling plate, should not be that expensive to repair.

I have a Frigidaire upright freezer model# ffu20f9gw3. The temperature alarm light is on. Cold air is blowing but the ice cream melted, and the hot dogs are still frozen and loaves of bread that i...

I have had the same problem with my frigidaire/electrolux upright freezer... I am researching to see if there is a pattern. Once or twice a year for the past few years, the freezer defrosted itself. I found the outside of the unit to be VERY hot to the touch around the time that this occurred.
We typically unplug it for a chunk of time when this happens and then replug it. It has always begun working again.
Sadly, we have lost many groceries and have had to clean many bloody meat messes as a result of this. ANYONE buying this freezer should save their receipt... That way, they can return it or have it repaired when it fails. I hate to think of sending all of these failing monstrosities to the landfill... =(

Freezer is not getting cold enough. For example, meat is still frozen but ice cream is soft.

Is your circulating fan working?
Sometimes they stick and need a shot of WD 40 and then work
it back and forth a little until it wants to take off again. Keep me informed
and PLEASE give a Thumbs Up for the effort. The Raz Shack

The red light bis indicating that the temp is too high, if you can ,turn the thermostat to a colder setting, if this makes no difference, then you have a serious problem, you will have to call an engineer.

Freezer not freezing food even at highest setting

If the unit is running continuously and not maintaining the temperature cold enough the system may have a leak. If it is NOT running continuously the problem could be in the temperature control.
