Lacie n2870 driver

There is a new hard disk in it, and I think it need a new driver but I can not find it from LaCies pages.

You need a new driver for sure, and here you can find it driverupdate us. This tool usually keep my drivers up to date (perfectly for now)

Click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll through all of your devices If you see a yellow question or exclamation mark ? ! or a red X you will need to update the drivers for this device right click select update driver/reinstall driver if you can see your usb device but its not working scroll to Ports(Com&Ltd) right click to update driver If you computer came with a motherboard disk the drivers could be on it. No much help I can give, when an hard drive beeps it has motor error or head error, the disk hardwar is faulty, and you are not able to recover anything from the disk.

A safe data recovery can only be performed by specialized companies on a facility called clean room, where dust is completely removed from the room using a vacuum.

The data recovery using this kind of equipment does not cost less than $800.

You can enter the bios on bootup by pressing a special key to force your computer to go into BIOS mode. What key this is varies by computer, often it is F8, F10, sometines F11. Anyway, use the key for your computer, and change to boot modus to not first boot from USB.

This one may only have one possible solution.

You probably have heard that the PS3 will support up to a terabyte hard drive. That is true for most of them.

However, depending on the version of PS3, you may have to see if it is possible to flash the BIOS of the PS3. I talked to a Sony representative about the hard drive and it will support a 1 terabyte hard drive.

Contact sony to see if it is possible to flash the PS3 BIOS so it will recognize the drive.

I have the same one. The power supply I have says input 100-240V output is 24W 12V 2A.
I'm replacing the power supply but my big problem is not knowing the polarity of the tip There is no sticker on the hard drive itself or on the power supply (that I suspect is fried). Can anyone help?

The reason why you cannot install Windows on your hard drive is this model Sony has a SATA disk controller.

Your hard drive may have failed.
I suggest you remove your hard drive and re-connect it to your laptop to make sure it is make proper connection. Boot up and go into the BIOS to see if the hard disk is detected.
If the hard disk is not detected then most likely the hard disk has failed.
To get your laptop working, you will need to purchase a new hard disk and install Windows on the new hard disk plus the Pavilion device drivers and your programs,

Hi I have a Lacie harddrive. The only numbers on it are N2870. I plug the USB port in. My laptop cannot see the Lacie and the light on the lacie flashes green / red. Help

Harddisk not working

First - check the BIOS settings to see if the hard disk is detected.
If not re-seat the data and power cables on the hard drive and on the motherboard. Reboot the computer to see if it boots up. If not is the hard disk LED flashing as the computer boots up?
If not then to further check the hard disk, remove the hard disk and attach it to an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a working computer's USB port. If this computer cannot see this as an external hard drive nor open the various folders and files then the hard disk is definitely faulty.
THE FIX.
Install a new hard drive in your Dell and install Windows on this hard drive, together with the Dell's device drivers and your programs.
You can download the Dell's device drivers from a another computer that has Internet access.

These drivers are available from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Tag label is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where the specific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you select the Windows XP or Vista version of the drivers for your Windows operating system. This fault usually means the hard disk has failed or the disk controller, in most cases it is the hard disk that has failed.
Check the BIOS settings and see if the hard disk is detected, if not it is probably a faulty hard disk.
When you boot up the computer does the hard disk LED light flash and can you hear the hard disk spin up. If the hard disk is making a clicking noise then it is definitely faulty.
To test the hard disk another way, remove the hard disk and connect it to an USB hard disk adapter and connect it to a working computer's USB port. If this computer cannot detect this as an external hard drive and you can't open the folders and files, this confirms it as faulty.
To get the computer operational again, you need a new hard drive, Install Windows on the new hard drive with the computer's device drivers and your programs.

New hard drive for my Toshiba Qosmio G15 R laptop

I believe with Toshiba they normally would give you a recovery disk and then a drivers and utilities disk as well. hi..there...maybe you mean the update firmware for your hard disk... but i think only the expart can update the firmware of hard disk 'cause it high risk and can make your hard disk doesn't work anymore.
so same like other if your hard disk works normally it doesn't any driver at all even you us XP or Vista operating system....

New hard drive not reconized, motherboard drivers

I had this problem on a computer recently. This particular motherboard may be needing the driver on the Windows XP SP2 disk. Your motherboard may have been made to use Microsoft SATA drivers. Othewise, there would have been a driver disk that came with the motherboard to let it see that SATA hard drive.
If it's a new hard drive, you have to reinstall the O/S so use a disk new enough to have SP2 included.

Restore factory settings

You need the disk to do so. Else you format hard drive install New Os download drivers from Website. ( Before this see the modem type display card drivers lan card drivers Etc.)
