I have a 13" Emerson TC 1351, but not the original remote. I purchased a RadioShack "2in1 Ultra-Slim" (model no. 15-2148), but none of the codes for the remote operate the TV. Even the Code Search mode will not yeild a code to operate the set. I have tried ALL of the codes listed the brand and the search mode. I can not get the set to work for the life of me. Should I get a different brand of remote or what?
I have same problem. Did you ever get it to work by buying another universal remote?I have same problem. Did you ever get it to work by buying another universal remote?
I have noticed that emerson has a MUCH longer code list for TV's than any other brand, and I've downloaded many code lists, in PDF, and off of message boards, and every list seems to be completely different and all of them are incredibly long. I own 3 universal remotes from 3 (phillips, GE, and Radio Shack). Even the lists provided with their manuals, are inconsistent with each other and all of them again seem to show emerson as having the most codes... Code Search, auto program doesn't seem to work either, and I'm getting annoyed with not having a remote...What's the deal?I have noticed that emerson has a MUCH longer code list for TV's than any other brand, and I've downloaded many code lists, in PDF, and off of message boards, and every list seems to be completely different and all of them are incredibly long. Every television for the past 20 years has remote capability, with no exceptions. Purchase a universal remote, then there will be a piece of paper with the remote telling you how to program it for your brand of television.
I hate to tell you this but you cannot add channels without an original replacement remote, and that costs about 40 bucks here http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=gmi&smodel=TC2556D&brand_pn=EMERSON_TC2556D&mode=large&uid=11743431409220
This remote if you notice has an add, delete, and the auto buttons. A universal will not have these functions on it. Good Luck.
