Smith Corona 300 DLE--toggle from italics to normal type

To switch fonts on this typewriter, you need to change the letter wheel. Unfortunately, there is no practical way to change the letter wheel in the middle of a document.

Smith Corona 235 DLE doesn't advance

Does the platen move or does the paper not advance? Check the paper release lever to make sure the feed wheels are snapped in place. If the platen does not move something in the paper feed motor area.

pull the paper release lever and look under the platen as well as you can, to see if there are any forien objects. check if the feed rollers are all in place. the slots in the paper pan under the platen should have rollers in them
