Help hook up Panasonic KX- P1150 parallel printer to USB with win Xp pro 64

I just built a new computer and realised, at the last minute ,that I forgot that I have a parallel printer and this new computer does not have that port. I bought a Parallel to USB port cord but it/or the install software, does not seem to work with Windows Xp pro 64. I need to keep both the 64 bit Operating System and badly desire to keep the low cost per page printer, which I use a whole lot.

The 64 bit alone is not the problem as I am running that particular printer on this present computer and it is also 64 bit with the 64 bit operating system. The problem as you so aptly pointed out was the lack of a parallel printer port. I will look into your idea, thank you.

Obtaining the PCI to parallel port card was a great idea and it works. I could not be happier. thank you, Thank You.Thank, You.

Ah, 64 bit computing I feel your pain. One of my uses insisted on buying one and then found out 80% of their unique programs won?t work on it. We eventually wound up formatting the hard drive and installing conventional Windows on it. I researched several manufacturers of ?parallel to USB adaptors? and none of them claimed 64 bit compatibility. I did, however, find out that there are compatibility issues and some printers won?t work correctly. An alternative if you have a free PCI port on your PC would be to try using this card from cables unlimited: http://www.cablesunlimited.com/products/Prod_Individual3.aspx?groupcode=I3303. A bit too pricy ($89) but they actually advertise 64 bit compatibility with real drivers to match. Good luck and let us know if you have any other questions.

Where do I get a driver for a Panasonic KX-P1150 printer for Macs

This product is no longer supported by Panasonic.  It is the same model number as mine and I bought mine used in 1989, that had been hooked up to a Commador 64. I doubt that a MAC driver was ever written.Without a driver , hardware does not work,  Sorry.

Kx-p1124 barcode unread. in vista when user defined sz <1.01 inch

You have a VISTA driver for this old printer? I did a search on the Panisonic site and found "No Results" for this printer. I bought mine used in 1990 from a guy that was using it on a Commador 64.
