SOURCE: The Philips Norelco Bodygroom BG2040, does this

I bought mine from the US and am trying to charge it in Australia for the first time. Looks like it doesn't work the other way around, as mine requires a step down transformer to convert the Australian standard voltage from 240V to 120V (American standard). Looks like it's going to cost me another $50 - $70

I have a philips bodygroomer BG2020 with charger ratings of 110-120V in and 3.7V, 95mA 3W out. I move outside the US and require a 240V AC input charger. I got a rplacement charger from Philips whic was...

I think the difference of 0.6 volts on the 220 volt charge will not cause any damage as the currect factor is low. this is due to the fact that the incremental voltage of 0.6 will compensate for the difference.
The other option for you is to use a step down transformer 220to 120 volt( 50 mA rating)

I had a Bodygroom and had to replace it because the power button got stuck and wouldn't turn on. The new one was fine for a while but did the same thing. I have noticed that after a while it will work...

Same thing happened to me so I took the thing apart and that's all it took. The compartment that contains the battery and chip had a vacuum built up that prevented the button from being depressed. Once I opened it and released the pressure the switch worked again.

The Philips Norelco Bodygroom BG2040, does this model support multi-voltage charging ie. 100v - 240v? Or is it only 100-120v?

Welcome to Fixya,

According to the manual of The Philips Norelco Bodygroom BG2040, use only the cord and charging stand that was provided. Also you just have to plug the adaptor into 120V AC outlet.

Hurts when shaving facial hair like its pulling it out

Check the shaver head for damage. Most likely, there is damage to the thin foil. If so, you will find a replacement at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

Norelco body groomer

I contacted norelco and they said I need to buy a new head every six months. Nice. They will send me one free. As I said to them, I doubt if I would sustain that buying habit.

I have a Norelco,Body Groom. The power button has gotten stuck in the on position. Is there any cure for this?

OK, I am incredibly impatient, so I just figured out how to disassemble the bodygroom on my own. The button issue is fixed quite easily as there is no spring.

To disassemble, I simply removed the silver/gray side plates. Then put an instrument in the blue hole and torqued it a bit and the fittings popped out of place and the top released. I recommend using some sort of plastic tool so as not to mar up the casing. Then, the guts are fairly straightforward. The button is just a piece of rubber with a rubber knob on the bottom. When you push it, it simply pushes a really small button on the motor. When it gets stuck, I am guessing the rubber knob has somehow gotten stuck next to the motor button. After you take off the top cover of the motor, the button should be back to where it is supposed to be. Just put everything back together in reverse order.

That fixed mine! Good luck!
