I have a Samsung SGH-a517. The phone was working fine until yesterday. When receiving or making calls the opposite party can't hear me, although I can hear them. Also, I can hear my own voice echo about 3 seconds after I speak. Is this a problem that I can fix (did I hit the wrong button?) or will I need to send my phone in for repair?

Sounds like your speaker has gone, when you next get a call put it on loudspeaker, it should solve the problem, as its a different speaker, you can put it in loudspeaker from options menu when you get a call.
did you check on your volume is up to check if you can hear the other party. normally your problem happens when the volume i down. So try making a call then turn the volume up to double check
Make sure you have picture messaging on your plan. If still no luck, take the battery out of your phone while the power is on, if still no luck, see if you can get a replacement phone.
