Remote does not open or close garage door; inside button flashes

When remotes are keyed, the inside light on the garage door openner flashes a couple of time, but does not open the door.

The wall button on the inside has a lite in the button, normally it is on so you can see it in the dark; however, now it flashes continously. When you push this button the door moves a foot or so then goes back down; if you hold the button in, the door will go all the way up. Press and hold, and it will go all the way down.

Following the above recommendation I fiddled with the electric eyes and the door began operating as normal. Not sure exactly what the problem was, but I jiggled each eye and whatever the problem was it is gone now.

I wonder if it is possible to by pass these eyes as in the summer at certain times of the day the sun shinning on one of the eyes makes it impossible to close the door unless you shade the eye?

What has happened is that you electric eyes are blocked or have gone out. The eyes are at the garage door about a foot of the ground on both sides. There should be a red or green light on one of them. If not some thing is blocking the beam that goes across the door. It is a safety beam so kids can nt get hurt when the door is coming down. If the beam is broke the door will go back up.

What is the problem when I pressed a button on the remote to close the door but the door did not close and the light at the openner was flashing?

Anytime the main light flashes 10 times and the door starts to close and then reverses to the open position it is a door sensor problem. Make sure they are still pointed at one another and the small light on each one is lit and not flickering. Tweak them if necessary. If you cannot get both lights to come on you have bad sensors.

My remote opens my garage door but will not close it. It starts to make a clicking sound when the remote button is pushed to close the garage door. It is a chamberlain Liftmaster with wireless key pad....

Check your door sensors. Make sure they are pointed at one another and the small light on each one is lit and not flashing. Tweak them a bit. If you cannot get both lights to come on you have a bad sensor.

Garage door only closes halfway

If the main light is flashing 10 times when the door reverses when closing it is a door sensor problem. You can override this with the door control but not with a remote. Make sure the door sensors are pointed at one another and the small light on each one is on and not flickering.

Program garage door opener.

press the two outside buttons at the same time. Hold while message reads "clearing codes"
Once you get a cleared message. hold the button that you want to program as your remote and press it down. The light will flash slowly. Take your remote in your other hand and hold it about 3 inches from your review mirror as close to the windsheild as possible. You must do this as soon as you press your designated button on the panel. Hold until your green light starts flashing fast. Once it flashes fast it means you have programmed your button properly.

Suggestions - do not do this in front of your garage as you remote will make you door go up and down the whole time. Also - make sure your batteries are new in your remote so you get a good signal to your button. Last thing - if one remote does not work after a couple of tries - use another remote.

Remote does not open garage door

It sounds like the wall button has the lock feature engauged.

Is there a small green LED flashing inside the wall button?
Push and hold the lock button for about two seconds and the LED should stop flashing. This will unlock the garage door opener and your remotes should start working. You may have to reprogram your remotes and homelink again since you triedprograming in the lock mode.

Good luck.

Program garage door opener

You must first erase what's in the memory.
1.) Simultaneously press both buttons 1 and 3 on the Audi's built-in remote. Hold them until the indicator light flashes (20 seconds or longer).
2.) Now hold your garage door remote close to the Audi remote.
3.) Simultaneously press and hold both your garage door remote button and the button you would like programmed. The indicator light will first flash slowly then rapidly.
4.) You may release both buttons once the light flashes rapidly.
