About a couple weeks ago my psp analog stick stated acting up. It just moves up and down and all over the place without me even touching it. And when i do move it around phisically the actual stick moves around clockwise or counter clockwise, not staying in place. Im pretty sure that something is unalined. Has anyone else been having this problem? Do i just need to send in it for repair?
Thank You.

Analog sticks on the PSP do wear out depending on how heavily you use it, if its been more than a year since purchasing it, then you could buy a psp 2000 joystick from amazon and unscrew the faceplate and unscrew the current analog stick and then replace it.
you really cannot use your analog stick if you're at the menu. its really like that. i've had my PSP for years and i believe that there's no mod or configuration to do that. Sorry mate.
as a sony certified technician, i can tell you that these types of problems are caused be what we call a "false Contact". When the psp's analog stick does not touch the motherboard component, the analog stick auto scrolls down. If it auto scolls up then is just dirt biuld up. But if it scrolls down, make sure the screws on the back of the psp are FULLY tightened so that way the analog sticks makes contact with the motherboard. I fix psp's for fun so if you have a question that need to be answered right away, please just call my cell phone Number (773) 351-2426 (USA, ILLINOIS NUMBER) hope that works
Check out this web site. All you need is a small philip screwdriver. the analog stick will be on the front plate. So all you need to do is STEP 1 on the web page. You can buy the analog stick on ebay.
Hope that helps.
your psp probobly has somthing lodged underneeth the analog stick like a pice of dirt or somthing very small.theres probly not much you can do yourself but you can take your psp to repair shops or some electronic stores that might be able to repare your psp and solve your problem...
then it is a internal fault is it under warranty if so id take it back and try your analog stick on the replacement one then your see if it your machine or the analog ?
