    There is no verbal pre recorded message greeting . No message recorded from incoming call.

Actually if you go to http://www.uniden.com/index/manuals_results.cfm?cat=1 there are ALL uniden product manuals for all products (cells, phones, 2-ways, etc) for free download in PDF format. Hope this helps!

Press the "envelope" icon at the right-bottom of the keypad. Then press number 8 and it starts the recording.

I can still view the name if I press the "info" key while it's ringing, but I have to do that every time. It doesn't show the number unless I go into the "incoming call log". Why does my NEC DTL-8R-1 keep dropping calls? It will drop a call and I will get instant dial tone but will be unable to call out for at least 45 sec.
