Faceplate Broken, would like to get a different type

Normally it is the button on the top left or bottm right of faceplate. it will spring the faceplate out at an angle, then you just pull off.

you may try checking all of your fuses. it's possible the bad deck may have blown a fuse or two.

sounds like the faceplate is not seated right or has dirty connections but it is in your detachable face plate. your still under warenty.

Its the ribbon cable needs replacing going from the deck to the faceplate

no, there is no interchangeable faceplate.
check for a used one on eBay.

The circuit board is broken.
I was trying to find out about setting the display dimmer option. I found someone that had a manual and was told to set/reset the "dimmer on/off" by pressing the function button repeatedly while the unit is powered off. When dimmer showed on the faceplate press up or down to set or reset the dimmer option. This was done in a dark closet as the display was so dim. Anyway, setting dimmer to on/off made no difference in the brightness of the display. Oh well. . . BTW, I found that the manual is not a free download and can cost between $18 - $40 on the internet - geeeeee whiz, Pioneer is not a user friendly company.

pioneer error code 30 is dirty/scratched disc or electrical/mechanical failure. If changing the disc, and resetting the unit with the reset button located behind the faceplate does not work, service is required.

That open button should take the whole faceplate off too. Try pulling it from the bottom. hope this is of help. What model of pioneer is it? Mosfet is just the kind of internal amp it uses.
