yes its just like using a computer because an xbox is a little one also you should have at least a broadband connection of 1.5 megs to run live or you will have problems playing certian games

The only way for you to be able to play XBox LIVE, is to pay for it monthly. So, check and see if you paid, if you have, please call the number on your XBox warrenty. :) I hope this helps.

Also, you need internet in order to play XBox LIVE as well, so you might want to call your providers if you have paid your bill.
