First--do you have the restore CD?
If you do, you can put it in the CD drive and reboot your computer. The restore CD should run and it will give you options on what to do. If you want a total erase and restore, then choose that option (restore your computer to it's factory configuration). Be aware that any data you have on the hard drive will be gone. So will all your programs, so be sure you have the program disks and any serial numbers you need.

Once Windows is installed, you will have to apply all the updates and service packs to bring it up to date. Don't forget your internet security software!

How do i restore a inspiron b130 to factory settings

Hello,

You may follow the below steps to perform a full factory restore:

Use an external hard drive to back up any important files on the computer as all of the data on the computer's hard drive will be erased during the restore process. Connect the hard drive to the computer via the USB cable and transfer any valuable photos, music, programs or documents into the hard drive's folder. Once all the files are copied into the folder, right-click on the hard drive's folder icon and choose "Eject."
  • Remove any other unnecessary hardware device cables connected to the computer as they maybe damaged when the computer is restored. Disconnect any scanners, USB drives, MP3 players, smart phones and the external hard drive.
  • Close any programs running on the computer and turn off the computer. Turn the power back on and hold down the "F8" key when the Dell logo appears on the screen to open the "Advanced Boot Options" screen. Make sure to complete this step before Windows loads.
  • Click on the "Dell Factory Image Recovery and DataSafe options" icon. Select the language settings for the computer and click "Next." Check the box for "Yes, reformat hard drive and restore system software to factory condition" and click on the "Next" button to begin the restore process. The computer will then erase the hard drive and restore the computer to the original factory condition. Press "Finish" to restart the computer with the factory settings restored.

  • Hope this helps..

HOW TO RESET IT'S ALL SETTING?

First u need to do is to state which model and device ur using.
After that, u could do two things:
    1. Find out is there a recovery disc for your computer. Insert it to your driver then restart your computer and press F2 ( depending on the model of your device). This will erase all your data and makes a clean start. Meaning all your document, emails, family pictures will be erased..
    2. Or u can restore your computer to an earlier time using System Restore. With this option, u are limited to date u first restored your computer.

How do I delete all the info backed up on my irocks external hard drive?

Usually hard drive disks are erasable so long as was an an empty space. However, the type of setting chosen during data encription causes the situation of erasability. For example, using an external harddrive disk as back up media storage media has specific requirements. The computer provides an integral means of least being compromised where data permanent encription may have been the options available during backup copying. The compoter provides the procedures of recording data into any connected external devices. Once the external device is reconnected to the computer, the options of requesting the user to either erase what has already been copied becomes one of the several displayable promps. Also, backup disks usually on connection to the computer assumes a necessity to restore to functioning mode. However, a least malfunctioning computer would simply display prompts asking the computer user to perform the most recent backup, or disregard because of least disfunction recognised from the system. Attempting is erase what has already been recorded becomes appropiate whenever the computer recognises any curroption of the files. A prompt is display asking to fix errors soon after connection. The computer user simple chooses to restore to default functionality the external hardrive. Amongs the options usually provided of the program prompt are format, delete, restore, or backup computer files once connection is recognised. keep in mind that, an external hard disk may be default rrecordable proving no options of erasing. Refer to the hard disk drive user guide as reference to achieve the process. Also, the user guide would have specified if the device is capable of alternations or not.

I have restore cd's but how do i erase evrything so i can start from scratch

Put the first System Restore CD into the drive.
    Restart your computer.
Tell your computer to "change the boot order", to select the CD device as the _first_ device.

As part of the "System Restore", your disk-drive will be completely erased.

I believe I erased my sound driver for emachine desktop. Erasing junk and may have erased the driver as well. We can hear computer sounds but no volume for youtube, etc.

you can't erase the driver when it's already installed, anyway try installing realtek driver:
    http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsCheck.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=23&PFid=23&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false#AC
or you can do System Restore in Control Panel, go to Performance and Maintenance(category view) on the left select System Restore, restore computer to earlier time before you erased files.

    System Restore

All your files are now marked as not in use. What this means is they could be "undeleted" if some went about doing so. Over time they will get overwritten has the pc is used more and more. If you are worried about someone recovering your data then you need to do a wipe of your hard drive using a program like DBAN. Then you'd need a recovery cd handy to restore the pc, since after doing the wipe the hard drive will be completely erased... Hope that helps.
