I have a computer with the asus a8s-x motherboard and vista OS. I had difficulties installing the sound driver, but I managed to get the computer to show that it had a sound driver. however now that the driver is installed there still is no sound. I have looked for vista sound drivers for this motherboard and haven't been able to find them. Is there any way to get the sound to work?
The latest XP drivers should do the job. Uninstall the drivers that you already installed.
Unzip the driver files to a temp directory, then instruct the Found New Hardware wizard to search in the temp directory for drivers, or click on Update Driver through Device Manager then point the Wizard to search in the temp directory:

Hello,
are you running Vista?
- identify the Asus utility which AsIO.sys belongs to
In most case the trouble is with EPU-6 after uninstall/reinstall the EPU-6, the problem was solved I hope this solves your error Succes
who have a solution for this problem of my asus a8s-x not boot up, not beep, not message, have connect the memory, cpu, fan , video card, keyborad, this is new, only the fan work.
you should be able to press F2 or Del on boot up to get into the bios, but you should replace the battery first then set everything up as the cmos has obviously lost it's saved settings because the battery is flat.
Hi
1 Long, then 3 Short Beeps: Video error
The BIOS is unable to access the video system in order to write any error messages to the screen.
Diagnosis: This is usually caused by a problem with the video card, or the memory on the video card.
Remove your video card inspect it for damage and then re insert it.
Try rebooting and see if the error remains.
If so replace the battery on the mother board and try a different video card.
If you have a video card built in then remove 1 srick of the RAM and re boot.
Do the same with the other stick.
If the error still remains then there is a fault in the Mother Board
I hope this helps!
didnt helped to me..
same MB and no sound under vista. The official driver disk just simply says no support for the installed OS.
