Connect a RCA cable from the TV Audio output (red/white)
to the surround sound Audio Input (red White)
If your TV has a "HDMI OUT" and your Surround System has a
"HDMI Input" Then use a HDMI cable instead.
You will need to set the source on your Surround System to
the audio source you use on the surround system(input)
On most it will be TV or Auxiliary.
First thing to do is get the owner manual for each and start checking both settings and actual hookup---usually a surround system will work on all types of sets---when in doubt read the owner manuals.
If need either manual Google that model number with "manual" to try to locate it.
As far as the set goes it may require either a variable audio output source or in some cases the out to be a fixed level.
If your surround sound receiver unit has rca audio inputs(red/white), you can hook up any brand of DVD player that has rca outputs. You would hook the yellow output from DVD player to yellow input on TV. Hook red/white output from DVD player to red/white input on surround receiver. Hope this helps.
If the TV has a Optical Digital Audio you can hook this to your surround sound reciver. If not you have no way to get true surround sound out off your set, just analog stereo from the RCA jacks.
Hi I have an RCA Truflat TV and a philips Surround sound dvd all in one system and a jvc dish system. I have had my surround working up until my nephews messed with it and hooked up a wii system to it. Now I get no sound on my surround sound and I have tried rearranging the cables but I can not get any sound from the surround sound and for the life of me I can not rember how I originaly had it set up. can you help?
I am assuming that you are using a surround sound system? If so on the back of the satellite receiver you will have RCA cables labled yellow ,red, white uuse an rca cable to run from the output on the back of the sat box to an rca input on the surround sound unit.the inputs should be labled on the back of the surround sound unit.once you have the sat box plugged in look for the output on the surround sound (rca cables) run one set of rca cables to the rca cable input of the Tv.on the original tv remote select the tv input that is the cable from the surround sound is plugged in to . make sure the surround sound unit input is selected to the input that the sat box is plugged into.this will give you surround sound from your satellite receiver, repeat with your DVD player plugging the DVD rca cable output to another empty input on the surround sound.to switch between the sat box (satellite TV) to DvD select another input on the surround sound unit.Try to correspond the units you are plugging into the surround sound to the correct name of the component on the back of the surround sound unit to avoid confussion.any questions,Im here to help.If this works rate me FIXYA! if it helps.GOOD LUCK!
Hmm. let me see if I get U correctly.
you use u'r theater system with a TV and the audio is fed via optical or U have DVD player that you can feed the audio via optical or coax. I think it is the later, if it is U could be having trouble with sound decoding setting of the DVD player itself. It's like mpeg out or PCM out instead of full DTS or 5.1 dolby digital decoding. If this is the case just use u'r dvd remote and check the audio play back settings. If this does not solve u'r problem, pls state u'r set up briefly, so tht I can understand the type of connection u use.
Happy troubleshooting
