As hubby is disabled, I am now the "electrician" in the family and a pretty crappy one at that! We have a ILO TV that hangs on the wall and we did have it connected to a VCR/DVD player. After a thunder storm, the VCR/DVD refused to give a picture to our TV (which was OK). We bought a new one but it acted the same way (you can see that it is running but no picture is transmitted). When I hooked up a small TV to the VCR, it works fine. I've been pretending to trouble shoot and finally found that the white/yellow/red cords that connect TV/VCR...the red cord was unplugged. I don't know where to replug it (there are several red plugholes in back) I'm trying to do it without removing the TV from the wall as I'm not sure I can handle the weight of the TV by myself. I've tried 2 different plugholes but still no picture. I've got some spare red/white/yellow cords somewhere...should I try replacing the cord or ?????. We do have the 3 year service contract but I have no idea if they'd come out when the TV is working fine but the VCR/DVD connection is not. REALLY appreciate some suggestions. This is driving me nutty!!!!! Thanks! Sandy
I beleive that in the thunderstorm the HDMI port was blown. There are many reports of this happening and many people are having troubles getting it fixed. The return percentage is very high on this TV. You will need to return the TV to Walmart to have them fix the HDMI port or even ask for your money back. Hope this helps.
