I've had this problem a couple of times. I start to play a song and it skips over songs, it finds a track it can play, than plays it. I have latest firmware and the license infomration is up-to-date.
The only common thing I can see about the skipped songs are they were recently downloaded. I played them yesterday with no problem. Today, they get skipped over.
I have a DEH X26UI That constantly skips tracks by itself and makes "whooshing" noises when I change tracks, the display that is supposed to show track info shows wierd symbols. It sometimes says error 19 but mostly it will play half a song then skip to the middle of a different track.I have a DEH X26UI That constantly skips tracks by itself and makes "whooshing" noises when I change tracks, the display that is supposed to show track info shows wierd symbols. If the file is corrupt, then it will skip until it finds one that it can play. I had this on some songs I ripped from a scratched up CD. At a certain point, the files are not clear enough for the iPod/iTunes, and will be skipped. This can also happen if you've unplugged without ejecting the iPod first while you were transferring music. I would recommend either playing a different song, or if it is doing it to all of them, put the iPod into DFU mode. You should be able to google that and have no problem with it. It will wipe your iPod, however.
All ipod devices track how many plays each song has. When in shuffle mode, the songs with more plays are in turned played more often. This can result in some songs playing multiple times while others are skipped;
this happens to me also with some songs, that just means that the song may be or is corrupted, try deleting it from your computer and download the song again and put it on ur ipod
I get this a lot with MP3s and it is because of the chips that Apple used in these iPods. It's only in the very latest ones they have solved this by using a different manufacturer. The best way I found to solve this was convert all the MP3s to AAC.
To do this, in iTunes
go to the preferences and in the General section where it says 'When I insert a CD' or similar there is an ImportSettings button. Click this and in here there is a selector for 'ImportUsing' and change it to AAC - The native codec for the iPod. Save all this
then in the main music library select the song you want to repair and right-click (ctrl-click on a mac) then choose 'Create AAC Version'. This will convert it.
Now right click it and choose 'Show in Explorer' (Finder on a Mac) and delete the MP3 version.
Back in iTunes if it made duplicate listings for the song try to play it. If it plays that's the AAC version if it doesn't thats the old MP3 version and needs deleting.
Transfer the AAC version into any Playlists you had associated with it for the iPod.
Done.
Kind of a pain if you've got loads of them to do but it does work. I tried repairing the mp3s in other software but the ipod still had issues with them so AAC is the way to go. (You can also convert them back to MP3 from the AACs which also fixes it but if you haven't transfered the AACs to the iPod it wont recognise the change of file for the MP3s)
yes actually your son changed your settings there is an option in there its called intro or somthing named like that what it will do is play the first 10-20 secends of a song and switch to another one and so on
Sorry but this unit has a problem with the tracking servo. The problem could be an alighnment, or a bad componet such as the laser assembly, tracking motor or tracking driver IC, with all of these problems the unit will need to come out of the vehicle. Good Luck
