My Palm has recently started turning itself back on a few minutes after powering off. It then gets into an endless power-on, tim-off cyle. Consequently the battery discharges quickly. Maybe conincidence, but hot sync over WiFi no longer works. ANy thoughts greatly appreciated!!!
Resetting palm to default mode should fix this, there is a program installed that is running in background mode that is responsible for this, your job is to identify this program and remove it from memory and your backup or archive directory on your pc. good luck.

Hey there I Think it has to do with the hot sync not working anymore, the WiFi is looking for sync so it turns on the pda, in order to avoid it just enter in your setings for automatic networks search or somthing like this and disable it Good day

the screen has begun vibrating and is very hard to read.
it sounds me that there is some sparking in power supply or high voltage section (FLYBACK) due to loose contact,
your problem of shut off, I would turn it back on and it would stay on
.might be also due to that only.
please call tech if you are not a tech person.
it is not a major one & simple to fix.
good luck.

Thanks very much for suggestion. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to correct the problem. The next likely thing for my Palm is to be used to see how robust the technology is by dropping it 30 floors :-)
I did vid the screen and noted that that when it came back on again there was an alert (flashing shriek mark). Apparently it was trying to sync versamail - which is not configured. De-configuring auto update for versamail has fixed problem. So many thanks for all your help - problem solved :-)
