Garage Door opener will not opern

I have a craftsman 1/2 hp chain driven garage door opener(model # 139.53973SRT). The original problem was I would press the wall mounted switch and the motor would operate but the garage door would open. I replaced the gear and sprocket assembly. Now when I press the wall mounted switch the motor will not operate. The SRT button on back of the motor flashes 2x's. How do I correct this problem?

2 flashes indicate safety eye issue. Check you wiring and make sure it is wired correctly and check to make sure the eyes are properly aligned.

Garage door opener won't open or close door
The drive gear is stripped. Remove the cover and you can see it just in front of the motor. It is white nylon and the part number is 41A2817. Available from Sears or any good door opener service company. It will come with instructions.

Garage door opener motor doesn't work.
2 flashes is a safety eye issue, but you problen is most likely that the chain is not sync with the limit setting. Take the bottom off the gear and sprocket assemble and rotate center limit srew until it is in the same position as the trolley.
