You may be able to remove then put back WMP from Programs and Features in Control Panel. Click on add/remove features and you should see it there. Uncheck the box and apply. Restart afterwards then check the box and apply. May require another reboot.

SOURCE: system says that program not responding

From what you put on this, it seems that you have a KERNAL32 error.
Fault Module Name: kernel32.dll

the application being Windows Media Player
Application Name: wmplayer.exe

I've researched this thru microsoft and the best thing I can find

Go to Start - > Type Run in the Search Box - > type regsvr32wmp.dll

What operating system are you using? Because the KERNEL32.DLL file is a 32-bit dynamic link library file that is found in Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows Millenium Edition (ME).

Fonts are symbols, squares, question marks and others.

Perhaps someone is messing with you, and changed your fonts to "Wingdings". Follow the instructions on this page to change your fonts back to something more preferable http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1175-fonts-change.html
  1. Right-click the desktop. Choose "Personalize."
  2. Click Window Color and Appearance.
  3. Click Advanced Appearance Settings
  4. Go through each item and reset fonts (where appropriate) to Segoe UI 9pt, not bold, not italic. (All the settings in a default Win7 or Vista machine will be Segoe UI 9pt.)
OR this old post suggests that a windows update caused the font change, and recommends you reload the fonts http://www.sevenforums.com/system-security/185352-virus-caused-all-font-change-windows-7-a.html

Windows media does not give audio on some avi files.vlc and nero players are fine . how /why is there a diffrence? Is it a codec problem if so can a different codec be copied into the windows media player...

This is due to the configuration of your AC3 filter or the absense of AC3 filter. VLC media player has these built in but for Windows Media player/Media centre you need to install & correctly configure the codec. Google KL codec pack & install the full version. Take all the default options, re-boot & all your audio will play through Windows Media player & media centre. KL codec pack also contains many other useful tools & codecs & nothing that will harm your PC. Don't forget to rate me.

Windows Media Player

Update the media player or reinstall a new copy.
That is the 1st thing that you should try.

How do you fix the internet explorer

You do not say which version of Windows you are using or the version of Internet Explorer so here is a general idea to fix.

If you are running XP or Vista download the new version IE8 and install it. Here is the link:

Play dvd nothing - play s/d card (video) sound but no picture.

You need to update the dvd softwear. Check the default settings for playback of media,if it is set to windows media it won't work if you hav'nt installed the correct updates. Choose the Toshiba dvd player as the default player and it should work. If you prefer windows media then you can get the updated codecs from ' free-codecs.com ' Easier still, try uninstalling your windows media player and installing windows media 11, this will usually resolve the problem.
