Try using WD-40 and cooking oil.. spray just a little bit on the game cd and leave it for 30 minits..wen the time is up wash it off with hot hot water and use a t-shirt or a smoooth cloth 2 wipe it off

Apply white toothpaste.(NOT THE GEL) rub in a circular motion all the way around from middle to the outside of the cd. let stand 5 minutes and wash off with warm water. then dry off with the softest cloth you can find. I recommend a eye glass cloth. I used this every time and it worked better than new. If it doesn't play then try the banana. if that doesn't work, then your disc is no good.

Try breathing on the cd

Use a freshly cut banana and rub it in a circular motion on the entire disk. Then do the same with the banana peel. (Both have to be fresh).

Then use a cotton cloth to get all the banana off you can, still using a circular motion. Finally use a glass cleaner and cloth to remove all the remaining banana

My Spyro the Dragon game will not play. It gets to the Playstation logo and freezes. I just had it resurfaced so it's not scratched. It is a Playstation 2 and plays all other games.

The best thing I could offer as advice is to cover the bottom of the disc with toothpaste, the toothpaste acts as a resurfacing agent and helps get rid of scratches, obviously clean the toothpaste off throughly before inserting the disc into the Playstation 2 disc tray.

I own a ps2 slimline, but it seems to scratch my discs, it is on and off, nbut it can wreack some of my disks, i haven't opened it up,but i.ve cleaned inside the disk tray. What do i do?

Buy a dvd or cd cleaner disk and run it in your playstation console. You can purchase them at places like Walmart and they cost about five dollars (American). If your console is scratching disks, then it probably needs to be cleaned. Try wiping your disks with a lint free cloth and make sure that they are clean and not scratched before playing them. Clean your unit with a disk cleaner (run it through a couple of times and use the liquid that comes with it) and that should solve your problem.

Vice City plays fine, but when i take that out and put in fifa '08, it goes to that configuration screen, with a picture of each memory card, and the disc. If I click the disc, nothing happens

That means the cd is not reading. Carefully clean the disc and put it back in. Start the game and if it comes on again, press the reset button and see if it will plat this time. Might have to do it 2 or 3 times, but if it is going to play, it will come on.

The cd player on my 2002 gmc envoy reads 'player error'. How can it be fixed?

purchase an optical disc cleaner disc and put it in your cd player and let it play through and then try a cd. make sure your cds are clean, smudge and not deep scratches. toothpaste makes a good cd cleaner for scratched discs. make sure to use soft cloth

How do people fix scratched game disk"s

This is the type of thing you should use, they really do work and you can get them world wide form all ebay sites and shops.
You can also try a home method, this is to use a cloth and toothpaste, toothpaste will act like fine sandpaper and small circle rubbing over the area will buff the scratch out.

MY GRAND THEFT AUTO 4 WONT PLAY IT KEEPS STOPING THE GAME AND TELLING ME 2 CLEAN THE GAME WITH ACLOTH THEN PLAY IT THERE IS KIND OF BIG SCRATCH ON IT BUT ITS NOT THAT BIG SHOULD I JUST BUY ANEW ONE

Hi,
you could buy a new game, but it,s worth trying this disk repair solution first. i,ve been repairing game-music cds/dvds for a couple of years, with 80% sucessful results.
1:) Find an empty jewel Case ( plastic cd holder case ) put the game-disk into the case upside down. ** Underside Facing Up**
2:) Take a soft-cloth ** Yellow Duster Type** and apply a small amount Of T-Cut Or Toothpaste. to the cloth.
3:) holding the disk with one hand, to stop it moving. use your other hand to work the cutting paste into the disk, around the scratched area. using light to medium pressure.
4:) once you,ve polished the area around the scratch, using a clean piece of soft cloth, buff to a polish.
5:) once the scratch has been removed, polish with a light solution of furniture polish, to fill in any surface inperfections.

If your in the UK, i can repair the disk for you.

TOOTH PASTE DOES NOT WORK

Hi DAVED North,

I Just got a XBOX 360 Call of Duty 3 disc back in shape using Toothpaste. Now the disc had a buildup around the outer edge from where it jumped off the spindle at high speed, This left a scratch all the way around the outer perimeter. I scrubbed and scrubbed for like 10 minutes on this scratch with Crest Toothpaste. The scratch is gone, but it left a foggy look where I did the toothpaste. Call of duty 3 is not working perfectly where is would not read at all before the toothpaste. This is why I say use toothpaste. It may not work on all, but it does work on some.
