You must have set a timer record. Press the button that sets a timer recording and cancel them. If you have the manual check what it says if you don't have a manual Panasonic do have PDF of most videos free. IF you can't clear try the factory reset opition.

I have a Viper 5301 LE 2 way remote starter system installed in a manual transmission. When I set my starter everything seems to be functioning normally. Once I get out of the car and hit the lock button...

It sounds like the turbo timer mode is active. In this procedure, the MTS remote starter is active, it's just that once set (after locking the vehicle) the vehicle will run the preset time(1,3,5 or 10 minutes) before shutting down. The MTS remote starter feature should still operate with the turbo timer mode.

SAFE

Pro-Tect Plus™ Locking Feature
To disable VCR usage or to protect set timer recordings, the unit can be locked so that the
buttons on the VCR or remote control don’t work.
• To Lock: Press and hold either the remote control’s ON•OFF or VCR button until SAFE
appears in the display to indicate Pro-Tect Plus is active. SAFE also appears if the VCR is
turned on while the feature is activated.
To Unlock: Press and hold either the remote control’s ON•OFF or VCR button until SAFE
disappears from the front panel display. Unlocking is the only way to use the VCR.

Proscan vcr plus gold stuck in lock

I just had the same problem and found a solution on the internet that worked. Hopefully you still have the VCR's remote control. Press and hold either the on/off, VCR1 or VCR2 button on the remote. I pressed the VCR1 button and held it for about 5-7 seconds. It released the lock and worked fine afterwards. The lock is some kind of childlock devise.

Mitsubishi HS-U447 VCR in Lock or "Loc" mode

Hopefully you still the VCR. Your's is stuck in "CHILDLOCK" mode. To release the lock you have to have the remote and press the DISPLAY for 8 to 10 seconds.

The purpose of the CHILDLOCK is to prevent others from using your VCR. If you want to set the VCR back on Lock you again press the DISPLAY for 8 to 10 seconds.

This solution is from the owner manual for HS-U448, so I figure your model is the same.

Samsung vr3607 vcr is locked

following is pasted from SV-7000W manual: 1 To lock the VCR, hold down the P/STILL (II) button for approximately five seconds. Result: The lock indicator (LOCK) is displayed. If a cassette is in the VCR when you lock it, the cassette will first be ejected. 2 To unlock the VCR, hold down the P/STILL (II) button again for approximately five seconds. Result: The lock indicator (LOCK) is no longer displayed. If that fails, try the same thing using the play/stop button. Cheers
