I have an Epson C82 printer which has been working fine, with the occasional glitches here and there. This weekend i bought a new black ink catridge and replaced my old empty one, but since then, no black ink has been printed. Ive done all the printer head cleanings and allignments, and even dabbed the ink head on some windex-soaked-towels but still nothing. solutions greatly appreciated.
Epson Printers are terribly designed. There is a known issue with them related to clogged ink wells. Below the cartridge the ink dries in the well and makes the printer unusable. I have seen this many many times and will NEVER recommend an epson printer. Most of the time I will have people go out and buy a new printer only because of the fact that you will be paying 50-70/hr labor for someone to FIX/Clean your printer. If you want to try to clean it yourself go ahead. I have done it in the past with varying success because it is more trouble than its worth to remove the inkwells and clean them properly. Buy an HP printer. The difference is that the HP cartridge is what contacts the paper directly. There is no inkwell inbetween to get clogged. When you buy a new HP cartridge you will replace everything between the ink and the paper. Epson is just a poorly designed product. Hack
