Im trying to connect to the internet and it keeps coming up authentication problem any idea
Router ?
Problems authenticating a router in a computer is a common problem when installing a router or if your internet service gets disrupted. It is easy to solve and only requires a few steps to fix. A router forwards data from a computer to a computer network. The network can be between multiple computers, such as one would need in an office. The network can also, and more usually in households, used for connecting to the internet. Open "System Preferences" in the Applications folder in Finder. Open "Network" under "Internet and Wireless." Click "Advanced" and select "TCP/IP." Select "Renew DHCP License" and click ok. Attempt to connect to the internet. If the internet is still not connecting, restart the router and try the steps again. b> For non-Macs b> Open "Wireless Network Connection" from the wireless tab at the bottom of the screen. Select "Change Advanced Settings." Choose the "Wireless Networks" tab. Choose the wireless network you want to connect to and select the "Properties" button. Under the "Association" tab, make sure the Network Authentication has the proper security level chosen. Enter your network key if your security code is anything other than "Open" or "Shared." Select OK and try to connect. Go Back to "Wireless Networks" tab -> "Properties" and click on "Authentication" tab and un-select the "Enable authentication for the network" selection if the network key is still not authenticating the router. Select OK and try to connect.
Hope this helps.

Check both your router and your PC configurations. Follow the manufacturer's directions for configuring your router and PC for WiFi access.

Unplug your router/and or modem for 15 secs and try it then. Sometimes the router has to reconfigure itself in order for it to stay stable. also be sure not to have any cell phones close by, due to a lot of them operating on the same frequency.

Hi,
There could be a number of causes for this issue. I will give you some tips to see if you can't resolve the issue.
Make sure your computer and software is up to date. Update windows and update any device drivers for your computer. Do a google search by the brand name of your laptop, go to the website and look up Drivers/Software specifically for your wireless card/motherboard.
The problem could be with your Internet Service provider if you are using your home network. The signal could be degraded and they will have to come out and fix that by replacing splitters and lines at your residence.
You could have an issue with your router. If your router is dropping connections there is not much you can do about this other than replace it. You can try to reset the router(you will lose settings and will have to reconfigure). In order to reset, you can press the small reset button on the back of the router and hold it for 10-15 seconds. You can also rule out the router by bypassing it, hooking your laptop up straight to the modem. If the problem goes away then you know the router is most likely the culprit.
