Screen says it cannot locate satalite. Don't know where pin reset hole is to see if that is the problem. Don't know web site where update info may be found

No problem. Just go to "support" on the TomTom page and then... 1) Select Your Product 2) Select Your Model 3) Define Problem -> Select "Repairs and Service" Now do what I do. Press and hold the control ("Ctrl") key and hit the letter "F". This activates the "find" function in Internet Explorer. Now just type the word that you are looking for. In this case, type "reset" in the box and hit enter. Wha-la! Hope this helps! [email protected]

The date and time settings.....ignore that it says GMT...actually click on it to change it to something else, then the correct one and tick the daylight saving box.

Easy solution: [TomTom HOME] - [Tools] - [Use Latest Map Guarantee]
This helped me, after interrupted download destroyed the map with "No maps found" as result.
Althought before that I did several other things, partially on my own, partially thanks to TomTom support. They might or might not be necessary for it to work. Here they are:
== Followed TomTom advise:
"In Home v2.xx
Tools/Preferences/Folder preferences/Downloads/Browse and delete the downloads folder
Exit Home by right clicking the HOME icon in the Windows sys tray ( next to the Windows clock ) and then open it again
Via Start > Programs ( this will create a new downloads folder)
Log-in again ( Very important) and click on update your device
[..]
Please ensure that you have the latest version of Home installed [..] and that you are logged in ( File > log In )"
== Before that I had done this:
1) Removed in user directory "[..]\My
Documents\TomTom\HOME\Download\map\Western___Central_Europe_2GB".
2) In the root directory of the device removed directory "Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB".
(After this I also did complete
uninstall of TomTom HOME 2, with following manual removal of
directories (1) "[..]\My Documents\TomTom\HOME", (2) [..]\Application
Data\TomTom\HOME",
(3) "C:\Program Files\TomTom HOME 2", rebooting and following
re-installation, but possibly that was an overkill)
==
...Now suddenly everything works just fine.

i had exactly the same problem, i dont really know how i solved it but first i thought it could be a memory problem slowing the gps signel so i reset the tom tom to factory settings then downloaded the updates from the tom tom home program of corce i lost all my destinations but i didnt want to do a back up just incase one of the updates had a virus or something so if u want to keep them i sugest u write them down first.and then i got a safty pin and pressed the reset button underneath where the memory card goes twice the second time i held it down for about 10 seconds then i looked for updates again from tom tom home. after that in tom tom home there is an option where u can operate your tom tom on your pc so i tryed that and i put in a destination on the pc and clicked on demo tour so i watched the route first it was a bit slow but started to speed up a little. after it had finished i un plugged the sat nav and went for a walk with it around the house soon as i went out side and set a destination it found 6 gps signels,make sure yhe battery is charged to at least half. well i hope anyone who follows my steps gets the same results, thought i lost 200 quid cos i have had it over two years and its only guarenteed for 12 months. well good luck.
